About the Author of "The Prophet's Biography"
Ibn Hisham, also known as Ibn Hisham Al-Kinani, was one of the prominent scholars and historians of the early Islamic era. Ibn Hisham was born in Al-Andalus, present-day Spain, in the year 877 AD. He came from a noble and scholarly family; his father was Hisham ibn Abd al-Malik ibn Hisham ibn Abd al-Malik ibn Hisham ibn Abd al-Malik ibn Hisham ibn Yahya ibn Hisham ibn Malik ibn al-Harith ibn Talhah ibn al-Mughirah ibn Abd Allah ibn Hisham ibn Malik ibn al-Harith ibn Abd al-Muttalib.
Ibn Hisham was renowned for his profound knowledge of Hadith and the Prophet's biography. He authored a significant work titled "Al-Sirah al-Nabawiyyah" (The Prophet's Biography), which is a translation and commentary on the life of the Messenger of Allah, Muhammad, peace be upon him. He based it on numerous original sources and prophetic narrations. This biography is considered one of the most important references for studying the life of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, and the early events of Islam.
Ibn Hisham made great efforts in collecting and organizing information in his book, which contributed to preserving the heritage of Islam and transmitting it to subsequent generations. Ibn Hisham passed away in the year 946 AD.
Ibn Hisham's legacy remains to this day an important reference for studying the Prophet's biography and early Islamic history. Many scholars and researchers have been influenced by his work, and his "Sirah Nabawiyyah" is indispensable for understanding and interpreting the life of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, the stories of the Companions, and significant historical events in Islam.
