The Stray Mamluk Jurji Zaydan

The novel is approximately three hundred pages long (medium size), telling the story of one of the Mamluks who survived the Citadel Massacre carried out by Muhammad Ali, in which nearly four hundred Mamluks were killed. It describes how that Mamluk escaped to the desert and how his life unfolded. On the other hand, the author narrates the dispersion of his family and how this family was reunited in a way stranger than fiction.
