Explanation of the Beautiful Names of Allah by Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya

He speaks on a topic that has intertwined with his soul and permeated the depths of his heart. When he speaks on it, you won't find him merely quoting others or relying solely on linguistic texts. Instead, you'll find him overflowing with knowledge that has reached its full maturity and stood firm on its foundations. He speaks of struggle and suffering, astonishing you with his profound insights, keen observations, and unique perspectives. These make you delight in what he presents to you, and you find his words flowing into your soul like an electric current, which you cannot resist. In all of this, he adopts the methodology of the People of the Sunnah and the Community, from the Companions and those who followed them in goodness thereafter. He adorns all of this with Qur'anic texts and authentic Prophetic traditions. In doing so, he affirms what is right and points out what is wrong, clarifying the flaws of those who went astray in this matter, and highlighting the dangerous consequences that result from their statements. Indeed, deviant methodologies act as a veil that separates their adherents from their Creator and Originator, to the extent of the error they have embraced. Among what is commendable about the scholar Ibn al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy on him, is that he established many principles that serve as a regulator for the truth in this matter, refuting the falsehood that became intertwined with it, and correcting what those who went astray in this path adopted. I have identified many of these at the end of this book.
