Famous Gangs Throughout History Mansour Abdel Hakim
Throughout history, many organized criminal gangs have emerged, spreading corruption in various countries. International gangs are part of the world of organized crime, whether local or transnational. These gangs are run in a corporate-like manner, with their members engaging in illegal activities to achieve large and quick profits, in addition to other material gains.
According to the definition of the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime, signed in 2002, organized crime includes a set of criminal acts carried out by a group of three or more people. This group is established and organized over a long period of time with the aim of achieving financial or material gains, directly or indirectly.
Organized crime activities include many areas, such as: human trafficking, drug trafficking, money laundering, armed robbery, document and currency counterfeiting, and fraud. Crime experts and Interpol believe that the emergence of Sicilian Mafia networks in the 1920s in the United States and Italy was the first seed for the spread of organized crime. This phenomenon later flourished thanks to globalization, the development of trade, and communication methods.
This book sheds light on organized gangs and the crimes they commit that affect the course of life in the world. It also reveals some of the secrets of these international gangs and their hidden activities.
