Child Caliphs in Islamic History: Muhammad Mostafa Megahed

In our Islamic history, caliphs took power at a young age, and found themselves facing the responsibility of managing a large state. Some of them fulfilled their mission perfectly, being men and rulers of complete wisdom and maturity, managing state affairs with skill and competence despite their young age. Others lost control of the state, and ministers and guardians took over, so they neither approved right nor condemned wrong, but were rather puppets in the hands of ministers who moved them according to their whims, inclinations, and ambitions. This book, dear reader, is not a forum for judging the caliphs who took the caliphate at an early age; those who excelled and those who erred. Rather, it presents the biography of these caliphs, mentioning the features of their era, how they took power, the circumstances they faced, how they overcame them, and how they dealt with crises in a state controlled by ministers and besieged by its enemies from all sides.
