Purity of hearts and submission to the Knower of the Unseen - Al-Darini

Among the works of Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Deirini, may God have mercy on him, is his book titled "Purity of Hearts and Submission to the Knower of the Unseen." The reader of the book will realize the depth of Sheikh Al-Deirini's profound faith in God Almighty. How can a person purify their heart from hatred and envy, or from dislike and animosity, or from hypocrisy and ostentation? And how can a person's heart be filled with the light of faith and the tranquility of certainty, and the lights of love and the sweetness of serenity? These are the questions that the author of this book, Abu Abdullah Abdul Aziz bin Ahmed Al-Dumairi Al-Sufi Al-Rifa'i Al-Shafi'i, known as Al-Deirini (716 AH – 796 AH corresponding to 1215 AD – 1298 AD), sought to answer in the pages of this book. Al-Deirini was renowned for his knowledge and righteousness in his era, and he had many writings in various branches of knowledge, in addition to Sufism which occupied his life and for which he was an advocate among people through actions before words. This book is the product of that spiritual and practical Sufi aspect, which we present to the dear reader to sip from its nectar and draw from its lights – that nectar which fills the soul with joy and happiness, and that light which reveals the path of righteousness with oneself, and the cure for hearts from the impurities of attachment to this world and its fleeting pleasures. We pray to God that the reader benefits from this book in knowledge and action. And God is the bestower of success.
