Since humanity knew the meaning of the state and systems of governance, it knew the corridors of palaces, and upon that was established what later became known as the royal court or royal diwan. There is no difference in the essence of the matter due to differences in nomenclature. The royal court or royal diwan is the assisting body to the monarch that conveys his ideas and opinions to the government and the people, meaning they are the link between the ruler, his people, and his government. This is the official meaning of the term "royal court", but the popular meaning is completely different. The royal court, in its popular meaning, refers to royal palaces and the stories and tales they encompass, some of which are strange and astonishing, involving love and hate, and sometimes betrayal and blood.

There is no doubt that talking about royal courts throughout history would require volumes, but here we will limit ourselves to the most famous stories and the most important kingdoms within whose palaces and corridors exciting tales took place or decisions were made that influenced the history of humanity.
