The linguist and writer Abu Hilal al-Hasan ibn Abd Allah ibn Sahl al-Askari (died 395 AH / 1005 AD), hails from Askar Mukarramah in the villages of Ahvaz. He left numerous works, the most famous of which is "Jamharat al-Amthal". He is also remembered as the nephew of Abu Ahmad al-Hasan ibn Abd Allah ibn Said al-Askari, and was also his student.
