Considered the first book to include selections of pre-Islamic, early Islamic, and Islamic poetry with reliable narrations, Al-Mufaddaliyat also contains complete poems that were among the finest in Arabic poetry. Six editions of Al-Mufaddaliyat have been printed. Al-Mufaddaliyat is one of the most important poetic collections in the literary heritage of Arabs and Muslims, and one of their most authentic poetic and literary records, rich in language and knowledge, especially as it was compiled and edited for the education and upbringing of the Crown Prince of Caliph Abu Ja'far al-Mansur during the Abbasid era.
